If the ai cheated you would never win a match ever. To put people's "cheating" to rest, the ai doesn't cheat. If you're worried cause you're new come to the Culdcept Central Discord, myself and many others will be more than happy to teach you combos, tricks, tips, etc at any point. I plan on doing Revolt multiplayer soon though! Many people play this in Culdcept Central's Discord.

Revolt multiplayer there are two flavors that I know of, traditional pvp and P + P vs Enemy as in 2v2 alliance matches against the ai. I never had the chance to stay current with the players. Until that point, I was losing interest too, but it's really turned around for me.Īs someone who's played Culdcept for over a decade let me start out by saying a few things about Revolt multiplyer, then get onto Revolt in general.įirst if you're unsure about multi and or don't want to be embarassed, I've never played multiplayer before. Games become a lot less "spam all the monsters" and more about how to either avoid combat, subvert territory, or literally reverse all your enemy's recent maneuvers. Once you reach a certain point where the second card-pack is available, probably 3-4 hours in, the game becomes a lot more enjoyable as you're introduced to a number of additional interesting mechanics that were never shown in the game up until that point.

IMO this is so the game doesn't immediately overwhelm new players, but it's evident that it's a bit more drawn-out than it should have been. This is because the game introduces you to a single cardpack and deck with very basic mechanics. One thing I will say - the first few hours of the game (or rather, the first few quest-lines / 3-5 battles) will feel a lot more monotonous and RNG dependent than the game really ends up being. It's a strong blend of Monopoly and Magic for sure, but there's definitely a bit of gambling and tower defense influence behind the series.
